The final episode of Downton Abbey is over. Instead of a cliff hanger or a nightmarish ending typical of a suspense thriller, everyone--even Lady Edith--lived happily ever after. (I wondered if Lady Mary would let that happen since she tried to ruin Edith's happiness in the previous episode.) Yes, everyone lived happily ever after. And that’s OK. That’s more than OK. It was a satisfying ending that still provokes a smile on my face at the thought of it.
